On the 10th of December 2016. the National Forum of Music held a 29th European Film Awards Gala. Traditionally, every second year, the ceremony takes place in Berlin, but in even years in other European cities. Therefore, in this year the biggest movie stars appeared to Wroclaw – European Capital of Culture.

Although the biggest winners of this year’s awards were the “Toni Erdmann” filmmakers because European Oscars went to the director Maren Ade, who also received the award for best screenplay,  Peter Simonischek for the role of Tony Erdmann, and Pierce Brosnan, źródło: europeanfilmacademy.org/fot. Greg Gorman Sandra Hüller (in the film “Toni Erdmann” played Ines Conradi) the most excitement among fans attracted the presence of Pierce Brosnan. The tickets for the Saturday’s meeting at New Horizons Cinema with one of the most handsome actors were sold out long before the event. Pierce Brosnan, as a honor guest of  Gala, received the award for lifetime achievement and making famous European cinema in the world. 

There were also awards for Poles. The Academy awarded an honorable mention to the deceased Andrzej Wajda and Radoslaw Ochnio has been praised for its sound in the film “11 minutes”. While the Audience Award went to Malgorzata Szumowska for the film “Body / Ciało”.
